We have all been there....the
first show!
Well you have to start
somewhere... here are a few pointers to help you along!
What we
bring...
We usually
take between 1 - 3 boys, and 10 - 40 bunnies to a show...
- folding camp chairs
- ink pens
- lint brush
- dry erase board with markers
- apron with pockets
- gloves / arm protectors (get a grumpy bunny
you'll know why)
- snacks
- large cooler for drinks & food (pop, water,
juice)
- business cards
- cell phone
- road map & MapQuest directions
- directions to the show location (show flyer)
- spare set of car keys
- walkie talkie (it helps keep the boys around)
- latest copy of Domestic Rabbit / Hawkeye News,
etc
- extra set of clothes!
What we
bring for the bunnies
- 2gal pump spray can (for water) we bring an
extra 5gal container for 2 day shows, they are happier with water from home!
- Rubbermaid container of feed (3 gallon size)
- baggies (to give feed to bunny buyers)
- slicker brush & other grooming tools
- tool box with brushes and blower, 50' extension
cord
- extra plastic grocery bags to keep wool in at
grooming table
- grooming table or 2
- cart to haul the carrier into showroom
- old towels
- paper towels
- tattoo kit
- pedigrees (those of for sale animals- a must!)
- carpet squares or burlap bags
What to do once you
arrive at the show room
-
Find a location to place your "home base" for the show. Set
your carriers out, your chair and grooming table & cooler. This will ensure you have
a home!
-
Go to the registration table & pick up a entry form and
remark cards. Go back to "home base" and fill them out. (Evans
Rabbit Registry software, REALLY helps here) Fill all your remark cards and entry sheets at home
using Evan's Software day's before!
-
Now it is time to get out the wallet and pay-up! You will
need to take your completed remark cards, entry form and wallet to the
registration table.
-
Walk around the showroom. Note if the judging tables
identify the first breeds up.
-
Prepare your rabbits for the show. Groom, feed and water.
-
Relax and enjoy yourself. Meet new breeders. Stay alert
for your breed to be called to the judges table.
-
Good luck at the tables!
